Vehicle Signs warn other vehicle drivers nearby to potential danger and hazards present. These vehicle signs are primarily attached to forklifts, trucks, oversized vehicles/ vehicles with wide loads, to identify the nature of their onboard equipment or visibility. This signage may be utilised for day and night purposes.
WHS laws and regulations indicate that all vehicles with a gross vehicle mass (GVM) over 12 tonnes and trailers with a gross trailer mass (GTM) over 10 tonnes must be fitted with retroreflective rear marking plates. Buses with a gross vehicle mass over 12 tonnes must also be fitted with rear marking plates but buses fitted with hand grips or similar equipment for standing passengers to hold are exempt from these requirements.
Consult your State or Territory's specific WHS laws and regulations to ensure the use of vehicle signs is compilant.
